When we refer to the Trinity, the biblically correct terminology is “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit”[Matt. 28:19]
But leaders of the Presbyterian Church [USA] have suggested some alternative designations such as “Compassionate Mother, Beloved Child, and Life-giving Womb.” or “Overflowing Font, Living Water, and Flowing River.” Two other suggestions were “Rock, Cornerstone, and Temple”. ” Rainbow of Promise, Ark of Salvation, and Dove of Peace.”
These phrases were among twelve that were suggested in June of 2006 by the church’s policy-making body to describe the Triune God of Christian doctrine.
The Reverend Mark Brewer, senior pastor of Bel Air Presbyterian Church in California, expressed strong disapproval of the suggestions, saying “You might as well put in Huey, Dewey, and Louie for them to vote on.”
” This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…….”and that men will …”having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: From such turn away.”
It is time to turn away from all forms of new-age teaching that has crept into the church.
