On Fox News, there is a story today about a man in prison for murder for 27 years. He was repeatedly denied parole because he would not admit his guilt. Turns out, according to DNA evidence; he didn’t do it. It seems that they are willing to punish the innocent who don’t say whatever they want them to say; even if it is a lie.
Is this a fair parole practice? Should an innocent man have to lie in order to go free from a crime he didn’t commit? Or, should he just have to rot in prison for 27 years until someone cares enough to prove his innocence?
I thank God for the innocence project in the State of Texas. Before we lock people up and throw away the key; we should at least be certain they are guilty. I do not advocate ever throwing away the key on anyone.
This man, finally free after 27 years, has alot of catching up to do. Is that even possible? Hopefully, someone will at least give him a job.
